A breath in the wind, a journey through sound and color. Issey Miyake arrived at Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2025-26 respecting the principle of its creator: understanding how much you can experiment with a garment, now taking it to optical illusions in knitwear prints and, although it may seem extraordinary, we also find a sobriety in tailoring pieces.

You never know what to expect when a new edition of Issey Miyake begins. The set design was decorated with sculptures filled with clothes in anthropomorphic shapes that gave us a nod to how they adapted their constant slogan of transformation. And, indeed, we saw it with dresses manipulated in waves at the waist level, oversize garments, hidden bags and a scarf-shaped sleeve. It was like observing a photograph of a shirt ruffled by the wind.

While the brand is always distinguished by its authenticity, the inclusion of power suits in brown and white tones with layered shoulder pads was one of the biggest surprises for its simple minimalist touch, compared to the rest of the collection. It's a touch of subtlety and elegance that is not often seen in their presentations.

The fun was constant and the garments that nuanced it were the tote bag-shaped tops, some with the handles falling on the shoulders and others containing the torso in a fluid and, I dare say, elegant way. The colors were presented in a wide variety, from neutrals to mint, red and yellow, and cemented its eco-friendly position by experimenting with textiles made from paper to make oversize hoodies and robes, accompanied by headdresses.

Issey Miyake's presence in the fashion industry is to treat it as if it were in an amusement park, it feels in its element and invites us to play.?
